Brainhack Global projects have been added to the projects page. Please submit your projects for inclusion, or check the list to find out what is happening at your local Brainhack Global event.
We are currently recruiting sites to host local events during Brainhack Global 2018. Each site sets their own schedule and content. The main global event will occur during the window of May 2 - 6, 2018. Each site will have the flexibility to choose their schedule within this window.
If you would like to host a Brainhack Global event, but cannot do it in this time frame, you can still be apart of Brainhack Global. Video content from different events will be available online for you to show, and members of the Brainhack community will be more than happy to connect with you over video conference for a ignite talk. Could this be the year that the sun never sets on Brainhack?
Hosting an event requires finding a suitable location (can be a classroom, hackerspace, library meeting room, or similar with good network and plenty of power outlets), ordering refreshments, and recruiting participants. More information can be found in the Brainhack step-by-step guide and GigaScience paper.
If you are interested in hosting an event for Brainhack Global please email brainhackorg@gmail.com.
Brainhack is a unique conference that convenes researchers from across the globe and a myriad of disciplines to work together on innovative projects related to neuroscience. Year after year, global Brainhack events have brought together researchers to participate in open collaboration, and regional Brainhack events keep the momentum going throughout the year. Brainhack Global 2018 (dates TBD) will unite several regional Brainhack events throughout the world.
A feature of the distributed Brainhack model is that content can be shared between sites. In the past, we have broadcast video lectures using google hangouts on air, which also archives the videos so that they can be watched later. It may also be possible for some of our speakers to give tutorials at multiple times.
